Privacy policy

Last updated 2 September 2026. BitShoppers collects as little as a website can. You need no account, we set no tracking cookies, and we never sell personal data.

Who is responsible

The data controller is the operator of bitshoppers.com named on the Legal notice page. Contact for anything in this policy: hello@bitshoppers.com.

What we process, and why

Server logs. Our hosting provider records the technical details of each request: IP address, time, page requested, browser type, referring page: to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose faults. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a working, secure service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Logs are kept for a short, fixed period by the provider and are not used to profile you.

Your preferences. The currency you pick, the market you pick and your cookie choice are stored in your browser's local storage, on your device, and are never sent to us. They exist so the site remembers your choice; clearing site data removes them.

Email. If you write to us we keep your message and address for as long as needed to answer and to keep a record of the correspondence. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying, or your consent where you ask us to do something.

Nothing else. We run no analytics, advertising, session recording or fingerprinting. If we add anonymous traffic measurement in future, it will be described here and on the cookie policy and switched off for anyone who declined the cookie notice.

Where the data goes

Hosting and delivery: Vercel Inc. (site hosting and edge network). Database: Supabase Inc. (the product catalog; it holds no visitor data). Both process data on our behalf under data-processing agreements and the EU standard contractual clauses where data leaves the EEA.

Third-party sites. When you click through to a shop, a gift-card provider, a card issuer or Trustpilot, you leave BitShoppers and their privacy policies apply. Affiliate links carry a tracking parameter that tells the shop the visit came from us; it identifies BitShoppers, not you.

Data we show about other people

Reviews shown on the site come from public sources such as Trustpilot and carry the reviewer's public display name as the source shows it. If you are a reviewer and want a review removed from BitShoppers, email us and we will remove it; to change it at the source you need to contact the source.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive a copy in a portable format. Because we hold almost nothing beyond server logs and email, most requests are answered by deleting the correspondence. Write to hello@bitshoppers.com. You also have the right to complain to the data-protection authority where you live or where the operator is established.

Children

BitShoppers is not directed at children and knowingly collects no data from anyone under 16.
